Motherwort (Leonaurus cardiaca) is a hardy perennial that is part of the mint family, which means it’s easy to grow and will reproduce on its own with extreme ease. What a giving plant! To reduce the spread, it can be grown in pots. Historically, it has been used to treat circulatory issues, anxiety, heart palpitations, menstruation regulation and was traditionally used during birth. These bushes can grow up to 4 feet tall! Cold tolerant, drought resistant and grows in zones 3-9. It will continuously bloom purple flowers June-September, although almost all of the plant can be used for medicinal or practical purposes.
