Rose of Jericho Flower
Rose of Jericho Flower
No, it’s not a tumbleweed. It’s a living plant! The Rose of Jericho or Resurrection Plant (Selaginella lepidophylla) is a species of perennial desert plant. It often appears dessicated and dead, but with a little water becomes a beautiful green rose. It is believed to bring blessings and good luck when kept in the home, and has been used in prosperity and love spells. It also makes a fantastic, easy to care for gift for your not so green thumbed friends! As an added bonus, each flower comes with a trinket safely coddled inside the fern-like branches!
Image 1 is a near fully bloomed flower that has been in the water for 24 hours.
Images 2 and 3 show the flower when it is dormant. It is dry, delicate and - by all appearances - quite dead.
Image 3 is after two hours of being in water. It’s already starting to bloom!
Image 4: Each flower is totally unique and different!
This is a living plant and will come with printed care instructions to maintain it. This also means that every plant varies in shape, size and color and will not match exactly to the images shown. You will have your own unique resurrection flower! Same goes for the trinkets inside: They will be individual to the flower, randomly chosen and cannot be swapped. Requests are not taken. It’s a surprise!
Warning: Plant is not edible. Do not consume or allow pets to consume.
Instructions: 1. Place the plant in a shallow bowl and fill with distilled water to cover the bottom 1 to 2 inch of the plant. 2. For the first week, replace water every day to keep it from molding. 3. Continue to add water or stop adding water to let it go back to sleep. Let it completely dry out before storing in a dark, dry place. If still rooted when moistened, it spreads into a green plant as much as 30 cm (1 foot) wide and bears minute white flowers.
