Ogma Wood Round Decor
Ogma Wood Round Decor
Ogma (“OGG-ma”) is a god from Irish and Scottish mythology. On top of being known as a god of eloquence and literature, he was also a skilled warrior. He was so intent on battle that it is said he had to be held back before the fighting began. He has been described as having chains linked from his tongue to the ears of mortals, rather dramatically suggestive of his linguistic and creative influence. Most notably, he was the creator of the Ogham script.
These original designed, wood burned pieces are handsome item for the collector and carry an intense gaze marked by blue war paint. Having Ogma in the home can bring heightened tendencies towards the creative - he is a god who weaves language and is a patron of the filidh (Gaelic poets-seers). But rather than being a fancifully creative, Ogma also reminds us to fight for these gifts and that, if necessary, we must “take up arms,” so to speak, to accomplish what is needed.
